Choose your food wisely before going on stage, have a light meal, drink enough water. Try not to take fried food or things that make you feel like shitting.
Practice practice practice...practice on your own 50 times, no blur sotong on stage please. I didn't sense people trying to smoke through during dazu, but there are always some people who are just too good at smoking through (i am expert in that sometimes). On SYF day, if you still intend to smoke through...you WILL screw up. Practice those bars you are not so confident at. Every single detail counts for SYF judging, they want you to be detailed and precise on presenting the way which the conductor interprets the music.
Have a good sleep before competition. Thats easier said than done, start doing it now, adjust body clock. Judges want to see bright confident people and not dull looking sleepy looking people on stage.
Do not over practice on the day of competition. Try using 95% of your concentration level on the practice on the day of competition and put in all 100% on stage, you won't want to pass your prime before you go up on stage. But still, if you slept early, you can still maintain your prime for the entire day.
Screw ups are common on stage. Don't ever stun there and stick out your tongue. Just act like nothing has happened.
If you are noisy kid who loves to shout or laugh loudly, please be a nice boy or girl for the day. You don't want points to be deducted for nothing. I remember during SYF last time, some bunch of my friends start making noises after they left the stage and got the competition marks deducted for nothing...ridiculously dumb isn't it?
Be confident and you will get what you want.
Make music. Music of togetherness. (sorry for the corny quote, I'm just following tradition)
