i know i have been repeating myself over again and again.
but this is for people who are just too slow to realise it.
and a great reminder for most of us.hehe.
1) PUNCTUALITY
please come for co practices (dazu/xiaozu)on time!
co practices start at 3pm and end at 6pm.
since some of us end lesson late at 2.45pm, you should reach co room lastest by 3.15pm.
and all xiaozuzhangs are supposed to make sure all rooms are opened by 3pm and get ready.
about the keys, i think you know :D
2) ATTENDANCE
there will be punishments of 40 squats for those who pons co practices.
this 40 squats will be served after the person come back.
for the punishment of 20 squats of the group members, instead of doing on the day they ponned, it will be done together with the person after a weeks time.
if the person who never turns up for practice cannot produce valid reasons/MC/excuse slips within one week, it will be counted as ponned. and the xiaozu will then do the punishment. this is to be fair.
3) ATTITUDE/DISCIPLNE
ask yourself about the attitude for co? are you passionate? do you even care about co besides all those cca points? and how are you during your xiaozu/dazu?
do you talk when conductor is speaking?
do you drink or eat in co room?
do you put your shoes on the rack?
do you listen to your xiaozuzhang?
it is about your ATTITUDE and DISCIPLINE.
please kindly put your shoes on the shoe rack. the racks are not placed there for fun. they serve a purpose for you to put your shoes on them.
FINES have started. in fact, $2.00 has alr been paid to co fund.
if shoes are confiscated, you need to pay $1.00 to claim back your shoes.
please also listen to your xiaozuzhangs. during practices, your xiaozuzhang has the MOST AUTHORITY and POWER to make sure you behave.
disrespect for them reflects about your attitude and discipline towards co.
even how you stack your chairs and how you even keep the co room tidy reflects your attitude.
i can show you a great example.
this was how co room was like when i came back after my xiaozu this wednesday (19/8)
can you see how messy it is?
this is what the huqin people left behind when all of them left.
persis, vivienne and i kindly kept all your chairs for you, stacked nicely at the side.
and those expensive and better zhonghu and erhu are lying on the floor!
those are school property, please take good care of it!
4)INITIATIVE/RESPONSIBILITY
please kindly assist your xiaozuzhang, their job isn't that easy.
please take the initiative to tell your xiaozuzhang if you can/cannot make it for practices.
and tell them your valid reasons.
and personally hand the MC/excuse slip to your xiaozuzhang even before they start chasing after you for your excuse slip.
it is also your responsibility to tell your xiaozuzhangs if you are going to be late.
you don't expect the xiaozuzhang to take care and remember every detail of everyone.
sometimes, it will also slip off their mind.
e.g. if you are not going to come, please dial up and inform them.
and tell them what time you are coming back to practice or the time you are leaving.
for all those instruments that are placed in co room, please handle with care too.
it's your RESPONSIBILITY. like the yangqin, please kindly cover them up with the cloth provided.
for the cello/bass, please keep them in the case and put nicely at a side.
the huqin, please keep your valuable huqins nicely at a side.
and lastly, your stands are always left there when you have kept your chairs.
can't you just keep them as well? isn't it just beside the chairs?
5)PASSION/GOAL
i know this year is not a SYF year, but still, we've got quite a sum of things to do.
please please please be passionate. i don't beg for you to be one overnight.
but this interest can be developed. and i believe you can.
and this year, we actually have some performances.
we will be performing for "MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL" and "OPEN-HOUSE"
for next year around may or june, we will be having performances!!!
it will be most likely be overseas.
now, we are applying to go for nanjing for some performaces.
or else, conductor can help us to apply for changzhou.
if really can't make it for china, conductor can help us to go to malaysia.
like with the singer/erhu player, zheng ke wei, to do some performances.
so now, we must get serious and practise hard. :D:D:D:D
there will also be GRADING this year!!! yeah yeah yeah.
all members are encouraged to go for it as the school will subsidised.
please start practising your grading scores now, we can take the grading together at the end of the year. don't you feel excited? it is like so cooooooool.
so my main point of this post is to tell all of you to stay passionate towards co.
first come: PASSION.
second come: ATTITUDE.
third come: DISCIPLINE.
fourth come: PUNCTUALITY/ATTENDANCE.
last come: GREAT RESULT FOR CO!
if you have passion, you will have the right attitude and the right attitude will be reflected in your discipline. lastly, if your discipline is good, your attendance will be good too. it is LINKED TGT.
so, come on. get passionate. we have a big goal this year.
WE NEED TO ESTABLISH THE FOUNDATION FOR SYF 2011 THIS YEAR.
the gold with honours we achieved is not that easy, we must maintain it.
we need to strive hard together!
co is a team. a team of one. none of us is like non-existence or extra.
we are all important. though you are one.
but one plus one plus one plus one plus one... makes up an ORCHESTRA.
